History and News
- 14 March 1997: Elections. During the opening of the FNM campaign, the campaign manager, Charles Virgill, disappears and is later found dead.
- Jan 1997: PLP convention ends with the self-improvement oath of U.S. Freedom of Islam mentor Louis Farrakhan, sworn by teenage gangs (Rebellion, Raiders, Gun Hawks).
- 1992: FNM wins elections and sends PLP into opposition after 25 years of Pindling Prime Ministership.
- 10 July 1973: Independence from the United Kingdom and adoption of the new constitution.
